Numaish empowers women entrepreneurs, funds girl’s education

Hyderabad: For 84 years, the Exhibition Society, which has established 20 institutions for girls and women, continues to promote female entrepreneurship through its annual All India Industrial Exhibition, Numaish. The event features 1,800 stalls, with a majority of them operated by women entrepreneurs.
Janaki Rayapati, a first-time full-fledged shop owner at Numaish, said, “Numaish gave me an opportunity. I once partnered for a stall, and now I have my own shop. Every day is a new learning experience, like attending a management school.”
B. Surender Reddy, secretary of the society, highlighted that the event prioritises women, adding, “All profits from Numaish are reinvested in women’s education.” He noted that these funds also cover staff salaries and infrastructure maintenance.
The exhibition further engages young talent by involving boarding students as volunteers during the 46-day event, allowing them to earn pocket money while gaining practical experience. The organisation boasts 250 lifetime members, including 60 active young members who manage various sub-committees from stall allocation until the event concludes.
